DANIEL ARSHAM

Contemporary sculptor artist access toarcheology and crystallization. His works challengestime, with a notion of erosion that refers to his past. Between antique bust or dolorean, this colorblind artist reveals the past to us under a prospective eye.

LOGO DESIGN

This logo is inspired by the quartz crystals he uses in his works to accentuate the visual aspect of passing time. Cubic geometric shapes reminiscent of this precious stone which is inclined at 11° for a typographic dynamic.

The logo is black, knowing that the artist is color blind, the colorimetric choice is logically justified. The logo / stamp format will be useful for an easily identifiable pattern or header.

PRODUCT CONCEPT

The faded leather is deliberately perforated to reveal the leather underneath, in darker blue colors. The application of a heat-sealed patch in the holes will give relief and thus color gradients will appear, similar to quartz crystallization.

A 3D print is located between the base of the sole, at the junction of the leather and this one. A semi-transparent and bluish sole gives this color to the quartz print.

DETAILS

The first detail corresponds to the faded premium leather used for the construction of the Air Jordan 1 Erode. Then a detail of the adhesive patch in imitation crystal which is applied in the holes for a perspective effect. The aglets are real quartz cristals. And finally the Erode logo designed in leather to sign the pair.

PACKAGING

Unlike the usual printing of the original box, a heat molding is applied directly to the lid of the box. This plastics processing ensures a more than realistic effect and transforms this simple shoe box into a contemporary art object. The typographic logo is also heat molded with black pigment.
